Nobody makes a better prosecutor than a good defense attorney. So when Sidney Blumenthal contacted Hillary Clinton by e mail to suggest that he had “lots of good ideas” for pursuing the impeachment of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas that David Brock proposed, he knew she would appreciate it and know just what to do: Do unto him what you did to others
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!
Here’s something amazing from Hillary’s latest email release: Hillary’s right-wing- conspiracy warrior and personal hit man, Sidney Blumenthal, told Hillary that he had “lots of ideas” ideas about impeaching sitting Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
The specific charges against Thomas that Sidney forwarded were almost identical to the very behavior by her husband that Mrs. Clinton defended so vociferously.
Blumenthal attached Brock’s memo alleging sexual misconduct, including “workplace behavior…suppressed evidence… and intimidating a witness.”
Sound familiar?Think Paula Jones, Kathleen Wiley, Monica Lewinsky. Linda Tripp, Gennifer Flowers. Those were the
very same techniques that the Clintons used against any women who got in their way – and often with the help of Blumenthal.
Most people would have seen a red flag, a don’t go there warning. But not Sid. Comfrtable with their sordid history on attacking innocent women, Sid sent the memo and offered to provide more information.
SIDNEY AND HILARY: PARTNERS IN THE WAR AGAINST CLINTON’S WOMEN
Sidney was the perfect person to pass this nutty idea along to Hillary, who would certainly embrace it. Sexual harassment in the workplace is a subject that she knows a lot about. After all,she was the master of those very tactics during Bill Clinton’s impeachment scandal – and much earlier. It was Hillary who was the architect of the despicable strategy to discredit Monica Lewinsky,Paula Jones, Kathleen Wiley,Linda Tripp, Gennifer Flowers. And Blumenthal was her star general in the Clinton war on any woman who talked about saying no – or even yes – to Bill Clinton’s predatory advances. So,no doubt Sidney had a lot of good ideas about how to do this.
What’s ironic is that the memo Blumenthal attached was from David Brock, the wacky former ring-wing conspiracy king turned liberal Hillary supporter. In an email dated October 24, 2010 – 15 years after the Anita Hill hearing, Brock’s 7 page manic memo explores the case for Thomas’ impeachment. Brock has come a long way from his Clinton-bashing days.
IT WAS BROCK WHO FIRST DIVULGED PAULA JONES NAME
Brock had a surprising supporting role in the impeachment saga. As a purveyor of stories about Bill Clinton’s sexual misconduct when he was Governor of Arkansas, Brock first injected the name Paula Jones into the political lexicon. In 1994, Brock wrote in The American Spectator that a woman named Paula had been alone with the Governor at the Excelsior Hotel in Little Rock during a business conference. According to Brock:
“Clinton asked him to approach the woman, whom the trooper remembered only as Paula, tell her how attractive the governor thought she was, and take her to a room in the hotel where Clinton would be waiting.’
(Jones was a 23 year old government employee at the time – jus four years older than his daughter was during the impeachment trial.)
They’ve got predatory conduct in the workplace covered.
Eventually, that disclosure about “Paula” caused Jones to sue Clinton, then a sitting President. That, in turn, led to Clinton’s perjury before a grand jury, which, in turn, led to the impeachment proceedings,an $850,000 settlement with Jones, the suspension of his law license for 5 years, an admission of giving misleading testimony under oath, and a $25,000 fine.
All that despite the tireless efforts of the Clinton attack machine to smear Jones, a 23 year old government employee attending a business conference, who had never met Clinton before.
Brock eventually did a big u-turn and published a letter of apology to Clinton for his Troopergate articles, which claimed that Clinton used State Troopers to procure women for him. He never disputed the facts of the stories, just the motives.
Now Brock wants to impeach Clarence Thomas (He later did another u-turn and apologized for his book trashing Anita Hill for accusing Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment. He originally described her as “a little nutty, a little slutty.”)
HOW THE CLINTON WAR ON WOMEN TEAM WORKED
But back to Sidney and Hillary. They had a magnetic attraction and worked as a brilliant negative ops team. When the Gennifer Flowers story broke during the 1992 campaign, Hillary described her on Sixty Minutes as a misguided, distraught woman. She said that Bill “talked to this woman every time she called, distraught, saying her life was going to be ruined, and, he’d get off the phone and tell me that she said sort of wacky things, which we attributed to the fact that she was terrified.”
What Bill didn’t tell Hillary and didn’t know at the time was that Gennifer was taping the calls. Although the Clinton campaign disputed the authenticity of the tapes, Bill Clinton quickly apologized to Mario Cuomo for an ethnic slur about him.So apparently they were authentic. And the tapes discussed the state job that Clinton had arranged for the unqualified Flowers, who displaced a Black mother of three who was absolutely qualified for the job. Eventually a court reinstated Carolyn Perry and Flowers was installed in a new job.
Based on the tapes that were released to the national media and the local press about Gennifer Hillary had to know what was going on. Eventually, Bill Clinton admitted, under oath, to a sexual relationship with Gennifer, but “only insisted it only happened once.
At the time the story broke, Sidney worked for The New Republic and wrote disparaging comments about Flowers, as reported by none other than David Brock:
“Blumenthal described Flowers as “the woman in red, trimmed in black to match the roots of her frosted hair.”
But his negative comments about Flowers was not enough.
Hillary was unhappy about the press focusing on Bill’s private affairs without ever reporting anything at all about George Bush and his private life. So, in a Vanity Fair interview, she talked about George Bush having a mistress that everyone knew about and claimed she had been told about it by Anne Cox Chambers. She later apologized, but never retracted it.
But Gene Lyons,of Spy magazine had written the same story. Blumenthal was quoted as critical of the story. But Spy’s editor later apologized and said that Sidney was actually the source of the leak and that the magazine was unaware of that when he was quoted in the article.. So he leaked the story and then criticized it as unfair.
Too bad he got caught.
But Sidney and Hillary were back in business when the Monica Lewinsky story broke. On the morning that the story appeared, Hillary told Sidney that Monica was a disturbed stalker, who her husband was only trying to “counsel,” based on his religious beliefs that there is an obligation to help people.
Suddenly, Monica (also only 23 years old) was portrayed in the media as a deranged young woman who was blackmailing and threatening the leader of the free world. Just consider that possibility for a minute. Christopher Hitchens, a journalist and former friend of Sidney’s reported Sid’s vicious campaign to anyone in the press who would listen. And, in both Grand Jury and Congressional testimony, Sidney admitted that Hillary had given him the “stalker” and “disturbed young woman” talking points. All of a sudden, private details about Lewinsky an dher family made the press.
Kathleen Wiley said no to Bill’s advances. When she spoke about it, she found her confidential White House personnel file was leaked. And she reported to the FBI that she was stalked and threatened by a man she believed to be Cody Shearer, the brother of Clinton pal and Assistant Secretary of State, Strobe Talbott. Here’s another coincidence: Cody Shearer is one of the sources of Sidney’s many spy emails to Hillary, sending news from Libya.
It’s a small world.
Cody’s late sister, Brooke Shearer, was a private investigator with the Terry Lenzner firm that admitted it did investigative work about Lewinsky for Clinton’s lawyers.
And Linda Tripp lost her job and was horribly lambasted in the press based on information illegally leaked from her confidential Department of Defense personnel file. She sued and won a $650,000 judgment.
The dirty tricks went on and on against the Clinton women – choreographed by Hillary and danced by Sidney.
They’ve also got intimidating women covered. Its all too familiar. For sure, you won’t see another woman stupid enough to tell stories about their affair with Bill Clinton. They know what the consequences will be.
But the dirty tricksters – Hillary, Sid, and Brock – don’t even understand how cynical their interest in impeaching Clarence Thomas is. To them, its business as usual. Brock even had the audacity to call for the end of “political smutmongers.” Brockand his mirror sidekick Sidney Blumenthal are the essence of smutmongers.
And they truly believed that no one would ever see their secret missives.
Thank you, Judicial Watch, Citizens Union, Gawker, and the AP for persisting in their FOI claims.
Watch your back, Justice Thomas.
