Hilary and Bill Clinton don’t fly coach. They only do private jets. Its the only way to go.
And they don’t fly alone. In addition to Secret Service details, they bring several aides on each trip. Its expensive. But you need someone to carry your bag, don’t you?
Buzz Feed has revealed that Democratic Party candidates reported spending $669,000 for Bill and Hillary’s posh private jet travel through October 15, 2014 – “at an average cost of $21,000.” See full article at https://www.buzzfeed.com/rubycramer/democratic-candidates-spent-at-least-700k-to-fly-in-clintons
The RNC has dubbed the former Secretary of State “High Flying Hillary.” And Bill was right up there with her. Most of the details about the cost of Hillary’s trips are not yet available and will be filed by the end of the month. So there’s lot more to come.
Chris Witherspoon, a guest on Al Sharpton’s Show defended the Clinton’s lavish travel:
“they’re the Clintons. They’re American royalty. I don’t want to see them flying on domestic Delta flights in first class. I mean, they were flying on Air Force One for eight years. How do you go from that to not staying on private jets and kind of having like that luxurious travel experience?”

Royalty? Although the Clintons would undoubtedly agree with Sharpton’s guest, someone should remind them that there’s no such thing in the United States. But they love traveling in royal style.
When both Clintons flew to the Harkin Steak Fry in Iowa, it cost $50,000.
And, according to Buzz Feed, federal campaign documents indicate that Bill Clinton flew to Philadelphia by private jet on April 10th to campaign for House candidate, Marjorie Margolies, the mother-in-law of Chelsea Clinton. The tab was $6,610 for the 130 mile trip, which would have taken about 2 1/2 hours to drive. But Bill doesn’t do car rides. The flight takes about 56 minutes and first class cabins are not available from Westchester County Airport to Philadelphia. Coach fare is about $700 round trip.
On another trip, Bill’s travel from Chappaqa, N.Y. to New Haven, Connecticut for a rally for Governor Dan Malloy cost $14,901. The distance is 57 miles and would take about an hour and 15 minutes to drive. Linear Air Taxi, a private jet custom service, quotes a round trip fare of $1714 for the 26 minute flight. Big difference!
Hillary flew to Providence, Rhode Island for a fund raiser for Gina Raimondo for $10,394, to Miaim, Florida for a Charlie Crist rally for $20,000 (first class fare is about $2000) Most of the details about the cost of Hillary’s trips are not yet available because they were after October 15th and will be filed by the end of the month. So, stay tuned, there’s lot more to come.
