While campaigning in Boston for Martha Coakley, Hillary Clinton’s remarks about job creation left a few people scratching their heads in wonder.
Here’s what she said:
HILLARY CLINTON: Don’t let anybody tell you that its corporations and businesses that create jobs. You know that old theory, trickle-down economics. That has been tried, that has failed. It has failed rather spectacularly. One of the things my husband says when people ask him what he brought to Washington, he says I brought arithmetic.
So, Hillary, if corporations and businesses don’t create jobs, who does? The Economic Fairy Godmother?
And, by the way, what role did the “arithmetic” that Bill Clinton brought with him to the White House play in job creation? That one’s a mystery!
Stay tuned. Maybe Hillary will have more to say and solve the mystery. Meanwhile, maybe someone should get her a copy of Economics For Dummies – it might help.
